Course Brief
Mechanical engineering deals with the design, construction, and use of machines. The programme endows students with the basic understanding and knowledge of how heavy tools and machinery work. A student pursuing a mechanical engineering programme will acquire knowledge about designing of automobiles, electric motors, aircraft and other heavy vehicles .These engineers also design machines that produce these innovations.
By seeing the huge scope of mechanical engineering in India and abroad as well , BITM has emphasized on giving the students a stronghold on basic understanding and knowledge about every tiny and heavy tools since its inception. The institution is well equipped with various labs , multiple computer center with Hi-tech computers .The faculty members also ensure that every student has been allotted with a fixed number of hours for professional training which provides them hands-on-experience of that field .

The department from 2009 has been offering undergraduate degree.The teachers and students are actively involved in research and Development work The current areas include Bond graph and Computer Aided Design techniques, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Flexible Manufacturing Systems and Robotics, Intelligent Machines and Systems, Solid Modelling and Computer Graphics, Application of Neural Networks, Systems Dynamic Simulation, Precision Engineering Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems, Combustion Modelling and Jet Impingement Heat Transfer.
